Leaving a gift in a Will

Help make a lasting impact with TCFDT

TCFDT currently receives gifts from many sources, including people`s Wills. The gifts we have received have enabled us to achieve so much. Whether you can give £5 or £500,000, every gift will go towards helping us transform individuals and communities in Tanzania

Leaving a Will

No one likes thinking about their death, yet without a Will you lose control over what happens to your property and possessions when you are gone. If you die without a Will, the Government lays down rules as to the administration of your property or estate and the beneficiaries could well exclude many of your loved ones and most (decisions over your property or estate will be taken by the government. This could result in many of your loved ones missing out and almost) certainly your favourite charities. A short time spent talking to a solicitor to make a Will ensures your wishes will be carried out. This can help reduce stress for your loved ones.

Finding a Solicitor

There are many do-it-yourself Will guides around but it is by far the best approach to consult a solicitor. You may consider asking a friend if they have used a Wills solicitor. If you would like to leave a legacy gift to TCFDT in your Will please contact your solicitor and they will advise you on the wording of your Will.

Updating your Will

It is vital to keep your Will up to date. Generally you should review your Will at least every five years and especially each time a significant life event happens such as getting married, a new child/grandchild or moving house. It is relatively simple to add a charity to your existing Will using a codicil. Please consult your solicitor for more information.
